This Policy explains how we process personal data when you use vinProta’s mobile app, website, and related services (“Platform/Services”). We comply with applicable privacy laws, including GDPR and US/California law. Visitors may use certain features without signing up; in that case, data is collected based on consent via our Consent Management Platform (CMP).
User Relationship (Account/Comms) – account creation/maintenance, notices. Legal basis: Contract (GDPR 6(1)(b)).
Community (Reviews/Ratings & Follows) – display your wine reviews/ratings to others. Legal basis: Consent (6(1)(a)); upon withdrawal, your username is anonymized and follow exposure is disabled. Ratings are generally retained as part of our core evaluation system; reviews are normally retained to prevent manipulation, unless compelling legal/rights reasons apply.
Prota Device Control – Bluetooth control (temperature, lighting, sound, timers/alerts, OTA), storing serving/storage temps. Legal basis: Contract; and Legitimate Interests (stability/improvement).
Analytics/Development (incl. ML) – service quality, features, audits, planning. Legal basis: Legitimate Interests (6(1)(f)); we apply pseudonymization/aggregation where possible.
Marketing/Ads – emails, push, in-app personalization. Legal basis: Consent (6(1)(a)); opt-out anytime.
Support/Compliance – customer support, legal obligations. Legal basis: Legal Obligation (6(1)(c)) and Legitimate Interests.
Account/profile (email, password, nickname/name, profile photo, locale),
3rd-party login data (Google/Apple/Facebook),
Content (reviews, ratings, photos, comments, follows, badges/levels),
Device/tech (device/OS/app version, IP, cookies/SDK IDs, Bluetooth logs),
Location (with consent),
Commerce data if/when purchasing becomes available (order/billing/shipping; payment details are processed by payment providers).
We do not sell personal data. We use vetted processors (cloud/hosting, analytics, messaging, support, payments) under DPAs. Payment providers (e.g., Stripe) act as independent controllers under their own privacy notices.
Data may be transferred to countries outside your own (e.g., US). We implement GDPR safeguards such as Adequacy Decisions, SCCs, and additional measures where required. Details available on request.
We use cookies/SDKs with disclosures and choices provided via our CMP. You may disable cookies; some features may be limited.
We apply appropriate technical/organizational measures (encryption, access controls). No method is 100% secure; please use strong passwords and enable available protections.
The Platform is intended only for those of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. If we learn we collected data from underage users, we will delete it promptly.
Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection (including to profiling/marketing), and rights related to automated decisions. We may request additional info to verify identity.

We may update this Policy; material changes will be notified in advance, and consent re-collected where required. The Effective Date will be updated.
